Beautiful effects, like cracked glass. This uses metal sheet, embossing folder, alcohol ink, _Matte Accents_ and _Rock Candy Crackle_. The alcohol ink is applied after the embossing, the matte varnish is there to ensure that the _Rock Candy_ will stick to the metal.

Interesting technique using an open-backed bezel and silicone putty to capture the shape of a found organic object like shells or flowers. What makes this interesting is that the bezel is part of the (created out of silicone putty) mould, so the resin sets inside the bezel itself, so you don't have to try to fit the item inside the bezel. Then when the resin is set, you can fill in the other side, so that it is smooth on both sides. Another interesting aspect is that one could make something semi-translucent instead of completely opaque, possibly dusting the surface with mica powder, and you could get interesting effects when the light shines through it.

This tutorial shows you how to prong set a cabochon with wire. Long but detailed. It's a good design, holds the cabochon well, while the prongs are unobtrusive.

Lantern pendant with large spherical stones without holes - jewelry making from copper wire. Really nifty way of ensuring that the petals are even. This pattern is suitable for stones with a diameter bigger than 1cm; the bigger the stone, the bigger the lantern. Without the Viking-knit bottom, this pattern can be used to make bead caps. Likewise, one could use a large bead cap for the first part of the pattern, and enclose with Viking knit.

This video demonstrates an easy way to make a wire wrapped pendant that features a cabochon stone. This requires thick (copper) wire, thinner (blackened steel) wire, wire cutters, hammer, block, centre punch, another hammer, and a drill. The idea is to use the thick wire as an outer frame, bend it in an overlapping teardrop shape, flatten the ends and drill holes in them (for jump-rings to go through). Then cage the cabochon inside the frame with the thinner wire.

This shows how to create a custom pendant using an image of your choosing behind a glass tile. Rather than gluing the tile/cabochon inside a bezel, this finishes the back with Diamond Glaze, then a bail is glued on with E6000.

How to make beautiful glass pendants easily (and more cheaply?) than using bezels or trays. You still use glass cabochons (and whatever decorative paper you want to stick to them), but instead of gluing them to bezel trays, you make the hanging-loop with wire, and the backing with card and epoxy dome stickers.
