Polymer clay and crochet; what a fascinating idea full of potential

A nifty idea of combining maille and crochet, by making a maille chain (it looks a bit like Trizantine) and then crocheting over the edges to add more decoration to the piece.

Three-strand leather thonging bracelet with large-hole beads which go over more than one strand, and alternate as to which strands they go on. Kind of like a faux braid.

What I like about this is that the necklace doesn't just end at the donut pendant, but continues on through with the matching leather cord dangle. Part of the reason it works is because the same leather cord is used above and below, and because the cord above is attached so as to mirror the cord below. (original listing has vanished)

Ah. It never occurred to me that one could use a whale-tail pendant as the toggle part of a toggle clasp. It may only work with a leather or textile loop, since other loops might not be large enough or flexible enough, but it's still a nifty idea.

The idea here is to take a cord and make a crochet-like chain on one side of the necklace, and leave the other side plain. That's an interesting texture/chunkiness contrast. In this example, the cord happens to be a beaded crochet cord, but the idea would work for any pretty cord. (original page gone)

There are multiple things of interest in these earrings. The main body of the earrings is done with black yarn, then the beads on the edge are attached with thinner thread (not sewn, it's clear it's still crochet). Then, looking at the earrings sideways, one can see that the top part of the earring is done as a fan/half-circle, and the lower part is two turns of a spiral; this is interesting because it wouldn't have occurred to me to not make the entire thing a spiral, but the two parts of it make it much better looking.

Turquoise donut pendant with satin cord Kumihimo braids on each side attached to it. What makes this interesting is that I think the braids started from the pendant, given the way the cords are wrapped around it, though I could be mistaken. But I like that idea, anyway.

Interesting idea: rather than do hyperbolic crochet around a tiny crochet circle, do it as a half-circle on a wooden ring. That way you get to see all the curves of it. (I would choose a different colour-scheme than this one, though)

Nice design idea: satiny yarn for the "flowers" and green eyelash yarn for the "greenery".

This "infinity scarf" attracted my attention because it starts off with knitted i-cord, and then does a traditional three-strand braid with five strands: two strands, two strands, and one strand. That slight asymmetry adds interest.

This idea could be used for jewellery-making as well as scarf-making.

Pendant made by crocheting around a twisted metal ring. Cool idea!

Originally from Etsy shop Zetaemme but the item is no longer there. Similar items are there, along the theme of crocheting around a metal charm. I'm noting this one though because the crochet on it is a little more elaborate, with three colours rather than one or two.

Lovely leaves with beads down the middle.
