This story is apparently modelled after "The Blair Witch Project"
but since I haven't seen that, I don't know how close or how far it
resembles it. It does have the feel of a classic horror movie (complete
with "oh you stupid idiot, don't do that" moments). I'm not entirely
sure whether it managed to be as scary as it was trying to be, but
there were certainly spooky moments. It also pursues the
"Blair is a powerful Shaman" piece of fanon as well as a few other bits.
This is, however, a Prologue, and what that boils down to is that
it's really only Chapter 1 of a continuing story, so one can't really
consider it in isolation, without the next story. So look at the next
story's comments.

It was the title of this story which caught my attention and made
me want to read this story. Something with such an unusual word as
"Confraternity" seemed likely to be more than just a run-of-the-mill
story. It was presented in an interesting way, with some intriguing
things to start off with, but unfortunately, there were two
insurmountable (for me) problems. The first (and less important)
problem was the gratuitous use of the Pokemons; as far as I can see,
they served no purpose in the story except to be cute. They didn't
advance the plot, and they were completely illogical and didn't belong.
The second problem was the "Claytons" Blair -- the Blair you have when
you aren't having a Blair. I'm sorry, I just don't want to read a story
like that -- I want Jim and I want Blair. Not some substitute.
